For the last decade Francisco Ciatso and Pete Cannon have been running rampant through Florida as Double Deuce Inc. Recently they joined with Amy Vitale to form the Double Deuce Social Club. Thanks from this interviewer go to Mr. Ciatso for taking time out of his busy schedule to do this interview.
Alan Wojcik: You and the Double Deuce Social Club have been part of Pro Wrestling Fusion since the debut event. What made you, Pete Cannon and Amy Vitale choose to set up shop in Fusion over the other Florida based promotions?
Francisco Ciatso: Pro Wrestling Fusion gave us a platform to pretty much do what we wanted to and reach our fullest potential. There was no intereference and we were given pretty much free reign. It’s nice to be recognized for your talent and the stars that you truly are. It’s refreshing not to be second fiddle.
Alan Wojcik: Since the initial event a certain person named King Kong Fu has been a thorn in your side. What’s it like to wrestle a man in a gorilla mask? Plus didn’t you lose a hair vs. mask match to Fu where somehow you escaped but Cannon was left alone ringside.
Francisco Ciatso: King Kong Fu is by far one of the most resilient men I have ever been in the ring with. He has been a thorn in my side for over one year now and I can’t seem to get rid of him. He enjoys trying to make a fool out of me and I enjoy kicking him in the face, it is a match made in heaven. I NEVER LOST THAT MATCH,..KING KONG FU CHEATED,..HIT ME with a foreign object and Amy Vitale had to rush me to the hospital. Cannon was left on accident,..HE KNOWS THAT.
Alan Wojcik: On the “Over the Under” event you had a confrontation with WWE Hall of Fame member Greg “the Hammer” Valentine where things didn’t go your way.
Francisco Ciatso: We had King Kong Fu rightwhere we wanted him. I am known was the the man who puts Legends out of their misery. I was upset that Greg Valentine was getting my air time so I ran him down. This business is about respect. You don’t come into MY HOUSE and take my air time. He came out and in true Greg Valentine fashion jumped me from behind. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
Alan Wojcik: At the March “Scratch the Surface” event you and the DDSC actually blinded Fu after your match with Wade Koverly which led to a blindfold match on May 16th. What’s it like to wrestle blindfolded and do you think this feud with Fu will ever fully be over?
Francisco Ciatso: I walked around for almosta week straight blindfolded so I WAS READY!!! It was like second nature for me,…BUT THEN AGAIN EVERYTHING IS. Francisco Ciatso is a natural in the ring..whether blinfolded or not. It’s my second home so to speak. I DO NOT EVER THINK THIS FEUD WILL BE OVER. I hate King Kong Fu and he hates me,..that just doesn’t go away.
Alan Wojcik: That match took place on the 1st anniversary Fusion event. What do you think (besides your appearance in the promotion) contributes to the success of Fusion?
Francisco Ciasto: There is no ONE THING that contributes to the success of Fusion. It’s a culmination of Joey Machete’s vision and heart combined with the respect the roster has for him as well the roster’s undying need to be THE BEST AND PERFORM AT THEIR BEST. It’s about Loyalty, respect and love for the business. Anyone who is associated with Fusion knows that going in,..those who don’t or didn’t are no longer around.
Alan Wojcik: You wrestled CJ O’Doyle on the August 1st Temple Terrace event which was Fusion’s debut in the Tampa market. Talk about the match and your memories of that day where over 800 fans were in attendance.
Fransicso Ciatso: I remember getting there around 430pm and seeing fans standing outside already and thinking,…wow,..we are going to have a house here. Then I remember coming out into the lobby to go the bathroom and there had to be around 200 people standing around waiting to get in. I thought to myself,…HOLY S#&T JOEY WAS RIGHT!!! The night was electric, and seeing the return of Scoot Andrews, Freedom Ryder and Pepe Prado was awesome. Nothing came close to when the Shane Twins hit the ring, the place came unglued and it gave me goose bumps!!! I was so proud to be a part of it. CJ O’ Doyle is a great competitor but he was way over matched. He fought hard and long but unfortunately when you are in there with a top star such as Francisco Ciatso in front of a HUGE crowd the best of competitor get’s overcome by the butterflies. It wasn’t his night but I was proud to take home the victory.
Alan Wojcik: Thanks to the Sheik winning the PWF Florida Heavyweight championship on August 1st your match with Steve Madison on the August 22nd event in Daytona Beach is now a normal match. You cornered me after the show to say the DDSC lawyers would be filing a greivance with the Fusion office. Was there any results from this meeting?
Francisco Ciatso: No results yet. I can’t really discuss a whole lot due to their being contracts involved and what not. None the less I signed for a PWF title match so YES I filed a grievence. Steve Madison is a top star but he will be licking his wounds and his mind won’t be on Francisco Ciatso. So come the 22nd you will see the NEW #1 contender for the PWF Heavyweight Title, FRANCISCO CIATSO.
